Refosco is a very old variety of dark-skinned grapes, considered autochthonous in the North East regions of Italy. With Nebbiolo grape, Barbera is the widest red grape grown in Piedmont; the Barbera d'Asti DOCG of La Caplana winery is the wine with a marked personality, developed after being refined for at least one year in oak barrels. It presents a dark ruby color with garnet reflexes. On the nose, we find pleasant aromas of violets and forest fruit, like an underbust fragrance, while the flavors of blackcurrant and dark cherries and the spiciness reveals a great structure.
