THE RED

The  Merlot from Azienda Casere is the everyday wine, soft and smooth, with plum and black cherry fruit. It has brilliant ruby-red color, displaying hints of violets and wildflowers in the aroma and a palate that is dry, full and slightly herbaceous, which remarks its extremely freshness  - it's an absolute cracker! Works well on its own or with some charcuterie as an aperitif or great with meat or creamy pasta dishes.

Refosco is a very old variety of dark-skinned grapes, considered autochthonous in the North East regions of Italy. The Refosco from the Casere Winery is a juicy but very structured red wine; on the nose shows hints of fresh fruits like blackberry and raspberry, but also flowers making it very aromatic and pleasant; on the palate is dry but smooth and very round, with flavors of cherries and dark red berries.
It is a very enjoyable wine, which matches perfectly with roasted meat, game, and pasta.

This is the diamond from this winery, and in this case, the 100% Cabernet-Sauvignon Barrique is also the big boy of the Casere Family. As soon as you pour the first glass, the ruby-red color, tending towards garnet, catches your eye straight away. It won't take long for you to fall in love with it: It has a dry, accomplished palate, full of personality, with dark berry fruits but also very leathery and earthy, due to the fact this outstanding wine is aged at least 6 months in 300-liter Slavonian oak barrels to allow its typical bouquet to develop fully. A  great match for roasted meats, grilled game meat, and seasonal cheeses.

This wine comes after an accurate selection of the best Merlot grapes, exclusively handpicked, which followed the fermentation ages for 6-8 months is small old Slavonian oak barrels.
The color is light ruby-red; on the nose, the dark berry fruits like blackberry and myrtle are perfectly blended with the flowers and woody aromas develop in the aging process; on the palate is very round and dry, with very smooth tannins and an exceptional bouquet of fruit.
This very elegant Merlot will pair perfectly with roasted meats and game, but also with meat stew or pasta, cheeses. 

Dolcetto grape variety is not as famous as the other appellations from the La Caplana winery but is a surprising and intriguing wine. The Dolcetto di Ovada DOCG is a medium body and easy drinking wine, which displays deep intense ruby color. On the nose the bouquet is elegant and restrained and includes notes of red cherries, licorice, and almonds; on the palate is dry with subtle tannins that with the fruitness make the wine feel extremely soft and smooth. Match perfectly with lamb, beef, game and creamy pasta.

With  Nebbiolo grape, Barbera is the widest red grape grown in Piedmont; the Barbera d'Asti DOCG of La Caplana winery is the wine with a marked personality,  developed after being refined for at least one year in oak barrels. It presents a dark ruby color with garnet reflexes. On the nose, we find pleasant aromas of violets and forest fruit,  like an underbust fragrance,  while the flavors of blackcurrant and dark cherries and the spiciness reveals a great structure. The mouthfeel is soft and grainy with a medium tannic grip and lively acidity.
This  Barbera would match your game, veal and poultry dishes.

The most consumed wine in Italy, and interestingly, the most consumed Italian wine in the world, Chianti is emblematic of what Italy means to the world of wine. Made from Sangiovese grapes, this wine has a bright garnet color; on the nose the freshness of cherry, strawberries, and red plum pleasure the senses when enjoying this wine. The palate is incredibly rich in fruitness but also deep and intense thanks to the 6 months of barrel aging the wine do before release. The perfect match is of course lamb, but any roast meat or pasta dish will make you enjoy this wine!

The best examples of Chianti Riserva are a visceral tasting experience. Imagine the smells as you walk through an Italian grocery store: at the entrance there’s a bowl of preserved sour Amarena cherries. You  walk under bunches of dried oregano, past a wall of dark, aromatic balsamic vinegar, then pass a counter where dry salami is being sliced. At the bar, dark espresso is dripping into a ceramic tazzo. A whisper of sweet tobacco wafts in the door from the pipe  of the old man outside. Chianti smells and tastes like Italy, and this is what you are going to find in a glass of this amazing Chianti Riserva DOCG, which come from the best selection of the Sangiovese grapes, carefully handpicked; after the fermentation,  the wine age for 24 month in oak barrels. An exceptionally deep ruby red color with veins of garnet in the glass, the bouquet is intense and delicate, developing wild fruits and culminating in rich spicy flavors with a persistent background of vanilla, tobacco, leather and slight hints of balsam, all developed after 24 month aging in Slavonian oak and 6 months of bottle aging. In the clayey dry soil kissed by the sun, sea breeze, flavor of broom and meadow, give rise to this wine with its after-taste of fresh fruits: that's where grows the Sangiovese grapes which give life to this Morellino di Scansano DOCG. With a Decisive yet delicate bouquet,  ruby red color that tends toward garnet, this 100% Sangiovese is one of the easiest expressions of this grape in Tuscany. The taste is full, harmonious, lively and warm, with intense aromas and flavors of sour cherries and forest flowers, and a touch of spiciness given by 6 months of barrel aging.

“Super  Tuscan” is a term used to describe red wines from Tuscany that may include the use of non-indigenous grapes, particularly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The Gavioli family produce their own without the use of Syrah, but carefully blending the other two varieties with Sangiovese, giving life to the fantastic Sergavio Barrique Rosso IGT. It shows an intense ruby red color with gorgeous fragrances rising from the glass. Aromas of cherry, plum, and crushed violets are dominant, with softly emergent notes of candied rose petal and lavender. Supremely elegant on the palate, the Sergavio is wonderfully nuanced and long in the mouth. Medium to full-bodied in style, the wine displays leading flavors of plum, cherries, cassis, and roasted hazelnut as it evolves on the palate. This Super Tuscan has wonderful acidity and supple crushed gravel tannins, allowing the wine to float across the palate with seductively descending cherry, cedar, and plum fruit tones, developed after 18 months in the barrel and 6 months of bottle aging.
